Merry Christmas from Station 36

Sunday, December 23, 2012  The Officers and Members of Yoe Fire Company would like to take a moment to wish Everyone a safe and Happy Holiday Season. Thank You to all of our families who have supported our long hours away from home as we serve our community. We would also like to Thank our residents and businesses's in our first due response areas of  Yoe Borough and York and Windsor Township's for your continued support. Special Thanks to all of our members who have given so many long hours through out the year. We could not do it with out you... Yoe Fire Company looks forward to 2013, and many exciting things to come. Merry Christmas to all of you, and have a safe and Happy New Year.

   


 

Santa Visits - 2012

Sunday, December 16, 2012  On Saturday 12-8-12 & 12-15-12 Santa made his annual visits to residents of Yoe Borough and York & Windsor Townships, who are in Yoe Fire Company's first due response areas. As always, Santa and the members of Yoe Fire Company had a wonderful time seeing all the smiles from all of the children and residents alike. Yoe Fire Company would like to thank ALL members who again made this year's visit with Santa a success. Merry Christmas to all.

     



 

Yoe Fire Company Hold's Open House

Sunday, October 14, 2012 13:00 hrs On Sunday October 14,2012 Yoe Fire Company Hosted the annual Open House in conjunction with Fire Prevention week. The public was invited to view apparatus and equipment used in the fire service. In addition children were able to walk through and practice escape methods in the mobile Fire Safety House. Parents and children also enjoyed fire truck rides provided with Rescue-36. The day ended with a walk through version with narration of various vehicle rescue methods used by the fire service, and a car was dismantled using different rescue tools carried on the Rescue truck. Yoe Fire Company would like to say Thank You to our visiting neighbors for their continued support. A Special Thanks to Eureka Fire Station, Station 54 of Stewartstown for the use of the Fire Safety House.

     



 

Dismantling of Old Radio Tower

Saturday, October 13, 2012  Yoe Fire Company members were assisted by our neighboring departments on saturday to remove the top sections of the old fire station radio tower prior to the upcoming fire station roof replacement. Goodwill Fire Company of York Township and Red Lion Fire Department members assisted with their Aerial Units, Towers 19 & 34. Yoe Fire Company would like to THANK ALL members and departments for their assistance.

     



 

Windsor Township Fire Prevention Public Display

Saturday, October 6, 2012 

Windsor Township Fire Departments participated in the yearly October Fire Prevention Display of Fire Apparatus held at the Windsor Commons shopping center. The public was given the opportunity to view various pieces of apparatus, which included Engine Pumpers, Rescue Units, Ladder - Tower Truck, Tankers, Brush - Forestry units, a retired engine from Red Lion Fire (now privately owned), MICU – 36 medical unit, and the York County Advanced Technical Rescue Unit, also known as Collapse 36. Parents and children were also given the opportunity to ride in the Ladder-Tower basket of Truck 34 from Red Lion Fire Department. A BIG Thank You to ALL departments, which included, Yoe, Red Lion, Felton, and Yorkanna, Fire Departments and Yoe Ambulance.



     



 

Rural Pump Operators Training

Sunday, September 30, 2012  Yoe Fire Company members Dana Shearer and Scott Cain attended a 2 day Rural Pump Operators class hosted by Eureka Fire Company, Station 54 in Stewartstown Pa. The instructors were GBW Associattes ,LLC. out of Westminster Md. The class covered various scenarios encountered while fighting all types of fires with the concentration on overcoming and adapting to differant situations to maintain the most important part of the job, applying or supplying water. Tanker 36 was used both days in differant set ups both supplying and relaying water to various other fire apparatus.

     



 

Busy Day for Station 36

Tuesday, September 18, 2012   A total of 4 calls as of 2035 hrs kept Station 36 volunteers busy.  All of the calls were for vehicle accidents due to the wet weather and slick roads.  Rescue 36 started the day at 0814 hrs with a vehicle into the creek on Camp Betty Washington Road and later at 1821 hrs encountered a two vehicle accident with heavy entrapment of one occupant on Springwood Rd.  At the time of this writing, Tanker 36 is responding to an odor of gas in a 19 Box.  

     



 

Yorkanna Fireworks Celebration

Saturday, September 15, 2012  Yoe Fire Company crews, along with other neighboring fire companies assist Yorkanna for the 100th Anniversary fireworks celebration postponed last weekend due to storms. Attack-36 and Tanker -36 and their crews enjoyed a great show.

     



 

Yoe Fire Company Participates in Yorkanna 100th Anniversary Celebration

Saturday, September 8, 2012  Members of the Yoe Fire Company participate in the Yorkanna 100th Anniversary celebration parade help on main st. in Yorkanna at 1:00pm today. Rescue-36, Attack-36 and Tanker-36 were the units participating. Yoe Fire Company congratulates Yorkanna for their 100th Anniversary.



     



 

Yoe Fire Company Annual Picnic

Saturday, September 1, 2012 12:00 noon  Members of the Yoe Fire Company enjoyed the annual picnic with their families and friends. All guests enjoyed great food, along with games of horshoes, vollyball and a bounce house maze for the children, (young and OLD). The day was a relaxing day for all to catch up and enjoy the great company of others. Thank You to everyone who attended. A Special Thank You to our neighbors and friends of the New Bridgeville Fire Department, who supplied a standby detail with Rescue-39 so that we could enjoy our day.
